What is my root password for MySQL?

Q. I have just installed mysql. I don’t know how to connect as well as what is my root or mysql admin password for MySQL?

A. Your default mysql password is empty (i.e. no password). For example:

  • Username: root
  • Password: empty

However if you use something like Plesk software use following information:

  • User: admin
  • Password: admin

Above is just a default password. If you are not sure about password, it is best to ask to person who has installed mysql for you.
